Business Planning
Ravim RBC recently oversaw the development of Business Plans at a remote Shire aligning with the Shire’s Strategic Community Plan. This process involved:
- development of a Business Planning template;
- delivery of Business Planning training to Shire executives and managers;
- coaching individual service line managers with development of their Business Plans; and
- development of KPIs against which service/management performance will be measured.
Organisational Review
Ravim RBC consultants recently conducted an organisation-wide review for a remote shire. Our consultants undertook to:
- consult with the Shire President, CEO, management team and key personnel;
- identify issues, challenges and opportunities for improvement;
- review the Shire’s levels of resourcing, spans of supervision and reporting;
- review and align organisational structure against the Shire’s strategic direction;
- prepare a report on the way forward for the Shire’s organisational structure;
- confirm direction of service delivery and levels of resourcing; and
- develop a corporate structure.

CEO Performance Reviews
With some 30 years of local government executive experience, our Principal has the required mature approach to assist Mayors/Shire Presidents and Elected Members with facilitating effective performance reviews for CEOs:
- Assisting reviews to ensure process integrity and fair participation;
- Liaison with the Mayor/Shire President and Elected Members;
- Development and implementation of CEO’s 360 Degree Reviews;
- Development of KPIs for monitoring CEO performance;
- Performance analysis and reporting;
- Development and presentation of CEO’s performance report;
- Assist with meeting the contract obligations and performance terms; and
- Coaching the CEO.
Organisational Culture and Employee Satisfaction
Working with our clients, Ravim RBC consultants develop instruments to annually track organisational culture and employee satisfaction. Most CEOs have a KPI to track the Council’s culture and employee satisfaction. Ravim RBC consultants tailor the survey instrument to the local context to ensure relevance. The culture survey is accompanied with a report which identifies the issues and proposes interventions.
Community Surveys
To enable effective service reviews, councils need to engage their communities to ascertain the importance and satisfaction with council services. Ravim RBC consultants develop instruments to track community views on council services. These are tailored surveys to ensure relevance.
Strategic Plan
Ravim RBC consultants have undertaken reviews of community strategic plans and developed measures of success/KPIs. Many councils struggle in translating strategic objectives into day-to-day activity.
Performance Management Framework
Developed and implemented a Performance Management Framework to align the organisation performance against the council’s commitments to the community consisting of the following:
- Strategic Plan – articulating vision and defining success factors and KPIs;
- Business Plan – defining what the council will do and how it will respond;
- Service Delivery Plan – defining services to be delivered and standards/KPIs; and
- Performance Management and Development Program – developed staff performance and development reviews.
